The World Famous
Swiss Inn
The Swiss Inn originally
opened in the mid 1920’s by the Arnold and Jennie Bringold
family (immigrants from Switzerland). It opened as a
restaurant, hotel, and tavern to serve the logging industry
working the area. In the early 1950’s it was purchased by Al
and Alice Holmes and in 1973 a fire completely destroyed the
building. The current building was built in the same location
and opened as a bar only. Bob and Carol Rosa purchased it in
1978 and owned it until Chuck and Joyce Howell bought it in
1985. The Howells reintroduced food back to the Swiss Inn with
a limited menu of burgers, subs, and pizzas in 1996. In 1998
it was purchased by Mark and Lori Lightfoot and the decision
was made to turn it into a full service restaurant serving
breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In 2006 a partnership was formed
with Gary Deacon and Lori West and a much needed renovation
was completed. The Swiss Inn is operated the same today,
serving approximately 1,700 meals each week! |
